MAY
17th – Lafayette Ball Color Guard & Escort
Location: Old Capital Building, 100 West Broadway, Frankfort, KY
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (muster at 4:30 p.m.)
The Kentucky Historical Society is organizing this event which will occur at the Old State Capital and the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History (100 W. Broadway). We do know that we need a large color guard for this event which will muster at the Old State Capital. Along with a color guard to receive the Lafayette interpreter we will need riflemen to escort Lafayette as he moves about the Old State Capital grounds. There will be a flintlock gun salute on the grounds followed by the color guard leading the procession from the Old Capital to the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History a few blocks away. The ball will be held at the History Center. Along with flagbearers and riflemen, we will also need fifers and drummers. At the Center for Kentucky History, we will form up a receiving line for all those following. (see attached flyer)
